Dreams

I have just seen something on TV where people are discussing what their dreams mean. So do dreams really hold any magic answers to our waking life?

Or are they, as scientists think, just electrical sparks in the brain of memories that surface but may be long forgotten.

If they are nothing more than memories why do so many people dream similar dreams? I have no answers but it is really interesting. Although this is coming from someone who rarely remembers their dreams.

So what do your dreams mean to you and is there some mystical answers lying within them or are they just an elaborate movie showing in your sleep or just maybe we add a story to the little flashes of memory that we remember from the night before and turn them into something more interesting.

One thing is for sure, they have started some of the most amazing stories/books.

  1. Hey Steph,

    It’s always T-break at 3.15pm.

    Perhaps it was the song?
Or the lull of the breeze,
    But I thought I’d return,
With a little song to please.

Enjoy the mood as you brood choosing islands for your next holiday with a coffee in hand and a smile on your dial πŸ˜‰

    Have a happy afternoon!

    Namaste πŸ˜€

  2. Dreams remain one of those things nobody can ever agree on; from the mystical to the scientific, nobody has an answer. I once learnt in my studies that they were your brain processing the day, but due to the raw nature of the information, your brain tries to make sense of it visually for you… Which is why they can be quite abstract or weird. Still though, even that isn’t agreed upon.

In regards to not remembering your dreams, if you ever did want to start I found keeping a dream journal really helped! First thing you do when you wake up is write down something you remember (even if its something small, like a colour or a feeling). After awhile, your brain trains itself to remember them more often and in more detail! Give it a go, might be some ideas stored in there πŸ˜‰ haha.

  3. Hey Steph,

    Interesting πŸ™‚

    Do not all charms fly
At the mere touch of cold philosophy?
There was an awful rainbow once in heaven:
We know her woof, her texture; she is given
In the dull catalogue of common things.
Philosophy will clip an Angel’s wings,
Conquer all mysteries by rule and line,
Empty the haunted air, and gnomèd mine —
unweave a rainbow, as it erewhile made
The tender-person’d Lamia melt into a shade.

(Edgar Allan Poe – “To Science” lines 229–238 – on the discussion of the baleful effects of “cold philosophy”:)

Have a wonderful day dreaming πŸ™‚

      • Hey Steph,

Aww, that’s okay, no problem πŸ™‚

Dream-on! Yes indeed…it’s what I love doing most…one of the few freedoms in life we get to always enjoy for free! Yahoo! lol πŸ™‚

Oh you’re so busy, oh so busy!
It’s busy being in business when business keep you busy buzzing like a busy bee, a busy Stephanie, a busy bee in business going about the business of being busy.

We’ll catch up later Steph, I’ll put a bottle of something cool clean and crisp in the fridge and share a glass over a comment or two later. Until then I guess it’s business as usual.
