I’m offering up some free experience to you younger ladies and gents out there. I have spent most of my life worrying… am I the right shape, am I kind enough, do people like me, is my hair the right colour… the list goes on and on… and I know I’m not alone. In fact I imagine most people go through this at some stage, if not throughout a lot of their life.
So here’s my yule gift to you all… Stop it, stop worrying about trying to second guess what others think about you. Just concentrate on the things that make you happy. I know it sounds simple but it’s probably the hardest thing you’ll ever do but it’s worth it.
If someone gossips about you, ignore them, I promise it says more about them than it does about you. Don’t believe me? Listen to Anthony Hopkins instead of me.
Think you’re fat? This is something we all do, when you get older you will look back at pictures of you from when you thought you were fat and wish you were that fat again. Its just unrealistic body image, don’t fall for it.
Think you’re not kind? I really think the people who worry about not being kind enough are the kindest people on the planet, so I guess we can get rid of that worry for you too. Cruel people will never worry about things like that, they’re too wrapped up in themselves.
Do people like you? Honestly, why do you care, what people think of you is their business, not yours, all you need to worry about is do you like you? So do you? Spend a little time alone, get to know yourself. Go out on your own it doesn’t have to be lonely, do the things you love without being distracted by other people. Find out about yourself, you might be surprised at what you find?
Take care of yourself and embrace the person inside whether you’re a god or a goddess. When you’re older you’ll wish you had. Remeber we only regret the things we never do.
Time to start believing in yourself, no one else can ever be you, so be the best you that you can be.
